Frequently asked questions

Which trading segments can I calculate?

Equity delivery, equity intraday, futures and options on NSE, using Zerodha’s resident individual retail brokerage plan. Enter total units, not lots. For options, enter premium prices; for futures, enter the quoted contract price.

Which charges are included?

Brokerage, securities transaction tax (STT), exchange transaction charges, SEBI turnover fees, IPFT, stamp duty, GST and one DP charge on a delivery sale. The estimate assumes one executed buy and one executed sell of one scrip.

What are the F&O STT rates?

From 1 April 2026, futures use 0.05% of sell-side notional turnover and options use 0.15% of sell-side premium turnover. This calculator models positions closed by a trade, not option exercise or physical settlement.

Why can my contract note differ?

This is a per-trade estimate rounded to paise. Contract-note aggregation and statutory rounding can differ. Multiple orders, DP discounts, slippage, account fees, call-and-trade fees, option exercise and physical settlement are excluded. Your broker’s contract note is final.
